Heather Cotterman is a Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and Certified Mentor through PATH International. Heather also holds a Level 1 Instructor Certification in Centered Riding. Her goal is to connect the Mind, Body, and Spirit Connection between Horse and Human as she guides her clients into the world of horses. Through working with horses we can refine our relationship skills to better our connections with others.
Heather works with Therapeutic Riding Programs to develop curriculum, train therapeutic riding instructors and equine specialists in best practices and design and implement a healthy herd environment and training regimen for the therapy horse. She is the former Founder and Program Director of Equi-Valent Riding Center, a Equine Facilitated Therapy center that was located in Ohio. Her programming specializes in "Horses Teaching Social Skills" through ground work and mounted experiences. She is currently in Parker, Colorado supporting therapeutic centers in the area. |
Equine Assisted ActivitiesGroundwork Equine activities that focus on personal development through horsemanship. Sessions are not considered therapy however, clients are welcome to include their Mental health professional to include a therapeutic aspect to their session.
